MUBS must change Leadership training series
Over the last two months, the Principal has expressed the desire to see change in MUBS. Prof. Waswa Balunywa has also clearly indicated that every staff in MUBS must be part of this change or else they will be thrown out by the change. To this effect, on December 8, 2016, the Leadership Centre organized a half day leadership training for Senior Administrators and support staff at supervisory level from the different departments in the School.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Balunywa indicated that the training aimed at equipping the non-academic staff with the necessary leadership skills to enable them carry out their tasks effectively and serve the students better. The training took place at the ADB building at Nakawa main campus.
The Principal also emphasized that MUBS’ core activity is teaching which involves admitting, registering teaching, examining and preparing students for graduation. However for this to effectively take place, Prof. Balunywa noted that the non- academic staff play a vital role, without them the School activities cannot be achieved. Therefore it is important to have this group trained in skills that can enable them perform effectively.
The training was facilitated by Ms. Regis Namuddu, the Director MUBS Leadership Centre and Prof. Waswa Balunywa.
