Dr. Nabatanzi bragged when she said that they are now targeting the reduction of failure rates. She cautioned students that what they do at the University does not matter but what matters is how best they use their qualifications. She urged them to go out there and use their qualifications and excellence effectively. She also advised them not to have negative attitudes but rather positive attitudes which will make them gain a lot in future.” Don’t engage in things like embezzlement or stealing. All these may bring you down from your original position.”
The head of Human Resource, Ms. Jolly K. Byarugaba also thanked the giants that were on the Vice Chancellor’s list. She said it was also good to associate with the best students and it was equally beautiful to excel. Although she was aware of the challenges of unemployment, Ms. Jolly Byarugaba encouraged them to work hard and excel for the betterment of their future and for the maintenance of the spirit of excellence. Dr. Isaac Kayongo who is the head of Leadership and Governance was also there in attendance. He urged them to love their courses and should do the exams by themselves and not permitting the mercenaries to do for them their exams. He said that success is setting goals much earlier. The students are supposed to locate the path to those goals and strive to reach there. Dr. Kayongo congratulated the best performing students in that faculty. He congratulated the students for being the mirror of MUBS. He assured the students that the certificate that they had received was a symbol that reflected their seriousness or achievements. It was an opportunity to come together in MUBS and those that got first class can still do much better than that. He commented that ,“ You people have been the most disciplined lot. Keep performing well and they will also keep on giving you certificates.”
Dr. Muhwezi then moved a vote of thanks to the lecturers who struggled with the students during the cause of their studies and this makes you to be the right people to associate with now. His words of gratitude were also thrown to the dean, Dr. Annet Nabatanzi, for the job well done. “It is always prudent to recognize the best performing students as we celebrate your success. Don’t let us down and those whose performances are well can still come back for more”. He thanked the administrators in the faculty for calling him to be there with them.
Finally, the Deputy Principal wished them a successful career as they go out there. The function was declared closed by him as the audience walked away at their leisure.
