The Executive Director , National Council for Higher Education, Prof. Opuda Asibo, has challenged universities in Uganda to promote quality research that provides solutions to economic challenges in the region. He also commended MUBS for training its staff at the doctoral level.
He delivered a keynote address at the opening of the MUBS Doctoral Symposium on Tuesday September
12, 2017 at Civil Service College in Jinja which kicked off the 22nd Annual International Management Conference. The symposium was also addressed by Prof. Patricia Jourbert from the University of Swaziland and a Visiting Professor at MUBS.
In his keynote address, Prof. Opuda discussed the doctoral issues in business and management.
He appealed to universities to focus more on identifying problems in the communities and how government can use their research to solve those problems.
The doctoral symposium provides a platform for doctoral students to present their research work and get evaluations from different professors and scholars at the conference.
