THE MUBS STUDENTS DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE

    

The Students Disciplinary Committee is an organ of the Makerere University Business School Council that was founded in accordance with section 43(1) of the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions act, 2001 (as amended). The committee is responsible for considering cases of misconduct by students.

It is composed of the following members;

               i.   A person qualified to be at the level of a Judge of the High Court of Uganda appointed by Council as Chairperson.

              ii.   One (1) Council member elected by Council.

              iii.   The Chairperson, Students’ Affairs Committee of Council

              iv.   The School Secretary(as Secretary to the Committee)

              v.    One (1) Academic  Board Representative

              vi.   The Dean of Students

             vii.    The School Counselor

            viii.   The Students’ Legal Advisor

              ix.   The School Registrar

               x.    Two (Students’ Representatives ( one male and one female)

              xi.    The two (2) Chaplains of St. Charles Lwanga and St. James Chapel

              xii.   The Imam of the School Mosque.

H/W Lawrence Tweyanze  

Chairperson Student’s Disciplinary Committee of Makerere University Business (MUBS) Council.

He has over 16 years experience working with the Justice and Legal Sector Government and with the United Nations (UN). He is the Inspector of Courts in the Judiciary and was appointed Deputy Registrar at the High Court of Uganda.

MS. SHIFRAH LUKWAGO 

Ms. Shifrah Lukwago represents the
Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) on the Makerere University Business School (MUBS) Council.

She is also the Chairperson of the Students’ Affairs Committee of Council
and is a member of the School Appointments Board.
Ms. Lukwago is an enrolled Advocate of Courts of Judicature in Uganda and
is the Chairperson Legal Affairs Committee of the Kampala Capital City Authority. .

ENG. DUNSTAN DICKINSON TURINAWE 

Eng. Dickinson Turinawe is the Acting Head of Management Science Department at Makerere University Business School

He is a member of both Senior Academic and Management staff of MUBS. He currently sits on the Contracts Committee, and Irregularities Committee MUBS.He is a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) who worked with Uganda Airlines Corporation as a Chief Executive Officer.

MSGR. DR. LAWRENCE SSEMUSU 

Msgr. Dr. Lawrence. L. Ssemusu is the Chaplain at St. Charles Lwanga Catholic Community at Makerere University Business School.

He also acts as the Sports tutor at MUBS. He is currently the Acting Chairperson on the Sub-Committee of Management for Meritorious Awards.

REV. KENNETH KARYAIJA 

Rev. Kenneth Karyaija is the Chaplain of the Anglican community of St. James chapel of Makerere University Business School since 2012.

He serves under the Diocese of Kampala, Church of Uganda. He also sits on the Sub-Committee of Management for Meritorious Award as a member.

SHEIKH MUHAMMAD ALI WAISWA 

Sheikh Mohammad Ali Waiswa is the Imam at Makerere University Business School where he has served the Muslim community since 2005.

He is a former Executive Board Member at NCHE for over 10 years. Sheikh Waiswa also served as a Lecturer at Islamic university in Uganda where he is currently an External Examiner. He is a member of the UNEB Audit Committee for Islamic and Arabic studies.

DR. ANNIE BEGUMISA 

Dr. Annie Begumisa is presently the Academic Registrar at Makerere University Business School since 2007.

She also sits on the CEMAS implementation committee as a member. She is secretariat on both the Academic Board and Graduation Committee.

DR. FLAVIAN ZEIJA 

Dr. Zeija Flavian is the Students’ Legal Advisor at Makerere University Business School.

He is the Head of Business Law Department at Makerere University Business School and also a Senior Lecturer in the same department. He is Chairperson of the Contracts Committee; an enrolled Advocate of Courts of Judicature in Uganda and was recently appointed a Judge in the High Court of Uganda.

MR. JAMES MWESIGYE 

Mr. James Mwesigye is a member of the Council of MUBS, the governing body of the University.

He sits on different committees of the same including, Audit Committee, and Students Affairs Committee.
Mr. Mwesigye is also a member of the Christian Men’s Fellowship of Namirembe Diocese. He has served in different capacities of the above fellowship.

MR. FRANCIS YOSA 

Mr. Francis Yosa serves as the Secretary to the Makerere University Business School (MUBS) Council and all its Sub-Committees.

He is substantively the School Secretary and has served MUBS in different capacities, including Human Resource Manager.

MS. EVACE NYAKOOJO 

Ms. Evace Nyakoojo has been the Dean of Students at Makerere University Business School since 2007.

She sits on the School’s Management Committee, Deans Committee, Academic Board, Admissions Board, Sports Committee and the CEMAS implementation committee.. Ms. Nyakoojo sits in the School Council and all its sub-committees in attendance to provide technical advice on Students’ welfare.

MS. JULIET D. KATEEGA 

Ms. Juliet D. Kateega has served as the Counselor at Makerere University Business School since 2002.

She served on the Contracts Committee of MUBS from 2006 to 2013 and an Administrative Staff representative on the School Staff Disciplinary Committee from 2005 to 2013. Ms. Kateega is a registered member of the Uganda Counseling Association (UCA) since 2012.

MR. DON PATRICK BUGINGO 

Mr. Don Patrick Bugingo has been the guild president at Makerere University Business School (MUBS) for the Academic Year 2015/16.

He is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Marketing at Makerere University Business School. He is a Student Representative to the School’s Council meetings.

MS. LILIAN NYAKUNI 

Ms. Lilian Nyakuni is the current Vice President at Makerere University Business School Academic Year 2015/16.

She is a Student Representative to the MUBS Council. Ms. Nyakuni is currently pursuing her Bachelors of Office and Information Management at MUBS.
